Responsibilities:
Senior Associate – PPG Independence is responsible for understanding, communicating, and ensuring the Firm’s and its professionals’ compliance with the relevant independence rules including but not limited to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA), as well as Baker Tilly independence policies.

  • Assist in implementing new investment tracking system software.
  • Assist partner and employees with investment tracking system set-up and maintenance.
  • Run quarterly reports from investment tracking system and prepare reports concerning investments in restricted entities.
  • Perform independence audits.
  • Address exceptions from independence questionnaires.
  • Coordinate the requests and responses of the PCAOB inspection.
  • Maintain the PPG Independence SharePoint site.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 3+ year(s) experience required in related field.
  • Ability to learn and run software systems and research tools.
  • Experience running software systems and project management preferred.
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Excel, and Word, required.
  • Ability to work in a deadline driven environment and handle multiple projects/tasks with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or in coordination with other professionals.
  • Capable of understanding and maintaining the confidentiality of all information.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate with diverse personalities in a tactful and mature manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to respond tactfully and professionally in high demand situations.
