We are looking to expand our bioinformatic analysis capabilities to broaden our service area into Multi-Omics solutions. We are searching for a highly motivated Senior Manager in Bioinformatic analysis with extensive experience in NGS based bioinformatic analysis.

In collaboration with the Director of Bioinformatics Department, the one will manage the group responsible for the primary/secondary NGS data analysis using various data analysis applications/pipelines and manage our supercomputing facilities. The individual in this role will also execute collaborative projects with external researchers and join the customer facing discussion. This role will contribute to growing, coaching, and aligning the team towards the shared vision of delivering high quality data analysis for our customers.


This role will be based in our Rockville, MD location.


Responsibilities

  • Management of bioinformatics team responsible in building and executing efficient, maintainable, documented, and reproducible NGS data analysis pipelines for the generation of customer facing data analysis report
  • Support research projects, including managing large amounts of data, monitoring, and running the developed pipelines
  • Computational server management – manage SGE system and hardware configuration
  • Maintenance LIMS data and system related bioinformatics tasks
  • Generate the documentation related to the pipelines (Reports, README, etc).
  • Research about public bioinformatics tools, pipelines and database
  • Participation in customer facing discussions with field application scientist to support business development/customer services activities
  • Planning and writing various ad-hoc scripts and visualization scripts to analyze specific data and interpret results
  • Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions while resolving a wide range of issues in creative ways.
  • Research independently within a team environment to develop and improve genomics analysis solutions.


Minimum Qualifications

  • MS with 5 years industry experience or Ph.D. with 2 years of experience in Bioinformatics or similar field is required.
  • Familiarity with NGS technology and workflows (Illumina platform) in Linux environment is required.
  • Monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining the physical server estate
  • Conceptual knowledge of storage and networking components
  • Experience using bioinformatics tools and familiarity with genomic/proteomic database
  • Good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills for team works
  • Experience with scripting languages, with a preference for Python and R
  • Experience with workflow languages such as NextFlow, CWL, Snakemake etc is plus
  • Ability to work as part of a team and with external collaborators.
  • Ability to independently and reliably complete tasks and projects.
  • Detail oriented and team-oriented leadership

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual in Korean + English, a plus
