Senior Bookkeeper (Part-Time)
EAC Network, a not-for-profit social service agency that empowers, assists, and cares for over 65,000 people in need through 100 programs across Long Island and NYC, seeks a Senior Bookkeeper to work part time for its Suffolk County Community Guardianship Program.
The Senior Bookkeeper position is a non-exempt position paying $24-28 per hour for up to 28 hours/ per week. The office is located in Central Islip, NY and the role reports to Program Director.

Assist case managers to identify and marshal client’s income and assets.

Identify clients’ outstanding and ongoing liabilities and expenses and manage processing of payments for bills and other expenses, using Article 81 approved bank accounts and protocols.

Prepare and review clients’ financial information for initial, annual, and final accounts reporting

File annual tax returns and negotiate back taxes.

Individualized financial services on an as needed basis, such as reverse mortgages, managing and making withdrawals from investments, or assist in selling property

Submit written progress reports and court ordered reports as required by the Department of Social Services and/or the Guardianship Court.

Prepare bank reconciliations for Guardianship bank accounts.

Oversee and review the work of any program bookkeepers as supervisor.

Assign tasks to program bookkeepers.

High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred, Accounting/business certificate with significant experience accepted.

Minimum of 1 year of prior work experience in an accounting capacity required.

Must have effective communication skills, both oral and written; must have ability to work cooperatively with department of social service professionals and other professionals interfacing with program clients.

Must be proficient in computer applications or other automated systems, such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office Applications, calendar, and email and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments

Must have access to automobile and possess valid New York State Driver’s License.
