CBR is looking for our newest PR Senior Editor to join our team. Comic Book Resources is the oldest and most respected comic book culture website in the world. It is the internet’s first and final stop for nerd culture, news, commentary and community.

As our PR & Exclusives Senior Editor, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire operation. This includes but is not limited to, organizing events, connecting with comic publishers and those well recognized in the industry. The selected candidate will have tremendous career growth and development opportunities.

Schedule

• Monday-Friday schedule between the hours of 9AM-5PM EST; however, it should be noted that remaining connected during off-hours is an essential component of this role. Scheduling variances for special events should also be anticipated, and you will be required to coordinate your workweek and working hours accordingly.

Responsibilities

• 
  Oversee the scaling and organizing of exclusive content (interviews, events, previews, art, etc).
• Manage team of editors and writers to produce/edit/publish exclusives and authority content.
• Adding and updating all junket/interview/red carpet/event (and exclusive content) information to Asana with dates, deadlines, and detailed with info (embargoes, posting dates, asset links, etc.) and tagged correctly to highlight current status and publishing dates of everything (and outstanding tasks)
• Ensuring after interviews/events covered that we get back transcripts and articles in timely manner from our interviewers and junketeers
• Help acquire and assign opportunities out to our interviewers
• Coordinate advance access and coverage of screeners and events with the news and features team
• Research, fact-check, and seek confirmations/comments on scoops and rumors. Part of this is helping on the producer side of interviews, pre-planning Qs/topics we should be asking about (collaborate with news and features leads on this)
• Oversee, manage, and produce podcast efforts along with input from EIC
• Oversee, manage, and produce events coverage along with input from EiC, and Senior News Editor.

PR, Planning & Outreach

• Act as CBR’s PR lead and point of contact
• Pre-plans and helps reach out in advance for all upcoming projects (all Comics/TV/movies) for interview opps/junkets/premieres, etc.
• Reach out to colleagues and industry talent to invite them for CBR interviews
• Establish and utilize sharing processes for our exclusive content with Valnet sister sites (i.e. we get good quotes in interview, share with sister sites if it’s stuff they can cover and link to us on)
• Plan, curate, and populate CBR’s weekly newsletter.

Publishing Expansion & Optimization

• Organize and oversee the production of high authority features.
• Take lead on writing exclusives from interviews and other third parties
• Ensure video assets are sent to the video editor with specifics
• Posts clips to Twitter/Insta
• Update key related content with links to our exclusive content & interviews.

Branding & Growth

• Continue to oversee and develop CBR’s voice and presence in the public sphere
• Keeping an eye on the conversation surrounding CBR’s brand online.
• Ensure we are getting access from all necessary studios or projects we want to cover
• Identify potential collaborators and talent to help cover authority content and expand visibility across networks

Requirements

• Previous experience working in the PR field
• Proven, established relationships with comic publishers and networks/studios
• Working relationships with the main publicists at each
• Track record of delivering exclusives/access/organizing events etc.
• Ability to organize events like Comic-Con
