Job Summary: VENENUM BIODESIGN LLC is dedicated to the discovery and identification of novel small molecule therapeutic products.
Venenum is seeking a Senior Scientist in Chemistry to join our growing drug discovery team in Hamilton, NJ.
Responsibilities:
- Drive our discovery projects forward through the design and multistep synthesis of novel small molecules.
- Ensure timely scale up synthesis of lead compounds for in vivo studies.
- Mentor a team of chemists toward the optimization of compounds.
- Communicate results and design experiments as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
Job Qualifications:
- PhD in synthetic organic chemistry with 4+ years of industrial experience in drug discovery.
- Expert knowledge of modern synthetic methods and medicinal chemistry principles.
- Laboratory chemist with an ability to lead by example at the bench.
- Ability to supervise junior scientist and/or research associate, and help them solve synthetic problems.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills capable of conveying scientific information in a clear and thorough manner to members of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Motivated self-starter, able to take a leadership role to get things done in a fast paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and related chemistry software applications.
- Experience in scale up synthesis or process chemistry is a plus
