POSITION DESCRIPTION:
For over 160 years, the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh has responded to the changing needs of a dynamic metropolitan and suburban area. The Pittsburgh Y accepts the challenge to build its capacity to ensure the future of its mission and to respond to continuing and emerging needs.
We are looking for a seasoned human resources professional willing and to evaluate, build and redesign the human resources efforts for the association. This position will be responsible for policies, procedures, organizational development, best practices, performance management, employee relations, compensation, and all aspects of local, state, and federal law compliance. Above all there is a need for multi-tasking, entrepreneurship, and having a relentless spirit of customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide leadership, inspiration, and guidance to the human resources team.
Strategic planning for the organization.
Fosters the development of staff and volunteers at all levels of the organization.
Drive the vital work of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Oversees compensation and benefits programs.
Assures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and meets YMCA program standards.
Develop staffing strategies, performance management, leadership development, retention, and recognition plans.
Establishing work priorities in achieving strategic and operating plan goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in business, human resources or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred.
YMCA Organizational Leader certification preferred.
Ten or more years of professional experience in all aspects of human resources management and staff development and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge and professional experience in planning and policy, talent management, selection, compensation, benefits, training and staff development, employee relations, performance management and diversity equity and inclusion strategy.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Current knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws regarding human resources.
Proficiency in business and human resources related computer applications, which may include talent management systems, time, and attendance systems, etc.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills; and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Senior human resources certification (SPHR or SHRM-SCP) preferred.
SALARY RANGE: $105,560 to $131,950
