POSITION TITLE: Server-Waiter/Waitress WORKSITE: Landing 13 152 N. Hockett St. Porterville, CA 93257

GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Server/Waitress will take orders and serve food and beverages to guests. Always aware of guest satisfaction to deliver the perfect service experience. Ensure high quality of food and beverages to guests.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide the perfect service experience for every guest.
• Ensure the guest feels important and welcome in the restaurant.
• Ensure hot food is hot and cold food is cold.
• Adhere to timing standard for products and services.
• Look for ways to consolidate service and increase table turns.
• Present menu, answer questions and make suggestions regarding food and beverage.
• Serve the guest in an accommodating manner.
• Must know all food, liquor, beer, wine and retail offered.
• Apply positive suggestive sales approach to guide guests.
• Pre-bus tables; maintain table cleanliness, bus tables as needed.
• Assist in keeping the restaurant clean and safe.
• Provide responsible service of alcoholic beverages.
• Deliver food and beverages to any table as needed.
• Must follow all cash handling policies and procedures.
• Responsible for prompt, efficient and courteous service to all customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintain proper hygiene and decorum to make a positive impression with the customers.
• Perform all cash exchanges, including receiving payment for food or drink from guests.
• Performs necessary tasks to service customers including but not limited to taking and filling all food and drink orders.
• Assist customers as necessary by monitoring customer needs including assisting the elderly and handicapped.
• Assist with cleaning tables and take dishes, utensils, etc. to kitchen for washing.
• Sanitize beverage areas during shift.
• Follow all company procedures and health regulations.
• Must attend and be certified in all applicable training programs required.
• All other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have a high school diploma or GED
• Must have 1-year of experience in food service
• Must be able to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate. (www.servsafe.com)
• Must have excellent customer service skills.
• Must be able to multitask and carry out tasks with little to no supervision.
• Must have excellent communication skills including reading and writing.
• Excellent math skills
• Attentiveness and patience for customers.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
• Active listening and effective communication skills.
• Flexible to work in shifts.
• Must be able to work flexible hours when necessary
• Must be able to work overtime when necessary
• Must successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug & alcohol screen and background check.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/CONDITIONS:

• While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk, listen, stand, and walk for entire shift,
• Must be able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, reaching, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Ability to grasp, reach and manipulate objects with hands up. (This work requires eye-hand coordination, and may require bilateral coordination of hands)
• Must be able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

This position reports to: Front Of House (FOH) Manager/ Manager

Salary Ranges: $14.00/ Hr./Part-Time

Paid Bi-Weekly/ Non-Exempt/Plus Tips

Working hours: Varies
