Position Description:

What You Will Do

Perform work related to noncontact service orders.

Read gas meters; enter/record data using hand held electronic meter reading equipment.

Perform noncontact service orders including:

• Disconnect gas service

• Remove gas meters and regulators

Maintain reports and records including:

• Stolen meter/gas

• Customer account information

• Route information

• Service orders

• Time sheets

• Mileage reports

• Orders completed

• Customer account information

• Miles logged

• MMS, FCS, FDM reporting

Perform preventive maintenance on meters and vacant meter settings.

Install, program and troubleshoot electronic reader transmitters (ERTs).

Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.

Employee may perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

What You Will Need

Knowledge of use and function of hand tools and office equipment applicable to position.

1+ years of experience with the application of basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division (tested).

Read and interpret maps, addresses, dials, and customer account information

Applicable driver's license.

Carry objects weighing up to 5 pounds each day; lift objects weighing up to 10 pounds 15 20 times a day; over 50 pounds 3 5 times a day.

Travel over uneven terrain including:

• Mud

• Gravel

• Sand

• Rocks

• Ice

• Snow

Walk, stand, kneel/stoop, and achieve extended periods.

Climb over and around barriers; move obstacles obstructing view.

React immediately to emergency situations to prevent injury to self and others.

Smell odorant in natural gas.

Operate tools and equipment required.

Read and write fluently in English.

Communicate and exchange information and instructions.

Visual ability to perform job responsibilities.
