SUMMARY: Ensure equipment is capable of running quality parts in proper sequence and
speed to meet production needs. Repair/replace worn tooling. Perform PM’s and repair tooling
with educated, experienced skills. Organize and perform changeovers. Train associates in
handling support (change over) of tooling. Document tooling status in tracking system.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be
assigned:
Take an active part in problem solving, debugging and improving of product
equipment/tooling.
Train manufacturing associates in proper handling of precise tooling and high value
equipment.
Perform PM routine, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild and align tooling as required and record
data.
Estimate time for repair and create report of fault with recommendation for improvement.
Work with manuals, blue prints and supply catalogues with a minimum of direction.
Work with digital calipers, micrometers and indicators.
Change over, set-up and operate machinery in core build area; clean and inspect tooling.
Initiate work orders into the maintenance system.
Maintain a safe, clean work area and follow all established safety guidelines.
Maintain spare part availability and set up required parts in tool crib. Order supplies
through P.O. system and follows up on delivery.
Continuously improve work process, changeovers, and workplace and work methods.
Service will include estimating time for repair and a report of fault and/or machine
condition with a recommendation for improvement.
Responsible for quality of own work.
Initiate Factory Work Orders into the Preventative Maintenance System.
Must be flexible to work overtime and any shift as required.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
1. Requires a high school diploma or GED
2. Five years of industrial experience or completion of a mechanical apprenticeship program
3. Familiarity with Metric system and tight tolerances (0.01mm)
4. Ability to troubleshoot/repair/improve tooling and machine set-ups.
5. Requires a demonstrated knowledge of MAHLE Production Systems such as work
instructions, preventive maintenance, OEE etc.
6. Ability to multi-task and work with little to no supervision.
7. Personal computer skills in MS Office and previous experience in heat exchanger
manufacturing processes is preferred.
8. PLC/Electrical knowledge is preferred.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,
common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to read and
interpret metal rule.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral
instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized
situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and
use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally
required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or
move up to 50 pounds by conducting a 2-man lift or using a lift assist device.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The environment will vary based on work position.

All individuals are required to wear ANSI rated approved safety glasses, with side shields, and
steel or composite-toe safety shoes. Additional personal protective equipment is required in
some work areas such as hearing protection.

potential safety or environmental hazards in the work environment.

Adhere to company safety rules and all federal and state reporting agencies requirements such
as OSHA and EPA.
Understand the ISO-14001 Environmental Policy which requires individuals to comply with
environmental regulations, prevention of pollution, and continual improvement.
