DES Employment Group is working with a custom metal fabrication company in Moline, IL that is looking for a Shipping and Receiving/Material Handler on 1st shift. Hours: Mon-Thurs 6am-4pm! $16+ per hour!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Knowledge of Shipping/Receiving shipments
• Performs job duties according to specified procedures and techniques
• Ability to interpret blueprint drawings and other documents
• Unload deliveries of items, maintain items in the warehouse, and move items and other materials as needed to fulfill orders
• Sort orders during loading and unloading process and mark containers with identifying information.
• Stage products based on customer orders and assist in filling customer orders.
• Ship, receive, and deliver supplies, materials and equipment, maintain inventory control, and accurate records
• Move freight to and from loading docks, delivery vehicles, storage areas, and production areas manually or by using forklifts
• Stack products in specific areas using boards or pallets.
• Document numbers of the units handled/moved each day using production sheets
• Utilize protective devices - padding, straps, etc. to prevent damage to items during transport.
• Verify the equipment to be used for the work is appropriate for the use with the procedure and has the capability to meet the applicable requirements
• Inspects and certifies work performed to specified standards and completes necessary documentation
• Use of conventional and precision measuring devices
• Maintain appropriate housekeeping in the work area and ensure equipment is clean and arranged in an orderly fashion
• Provide a great level of attention to detail
• Work with other team members to maximize productivity efficiently
• Performs additional duties as assigned
• Adhere to all safety and quality rules and regulations
• Wear appropriate safety Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
• Report all injuries, no matter how minor, to the supervisor
• Encourage co-workers to work safely
• Report unsafe acts, work practices, and conditions to management
