SCOPE: To provide leadership to inventory of finished goods and handle disposition for shipment in accordance with customer orders. Provide supervision to Shipping Clerk. Ie) A Shipping / Receiving Clerk, is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments. Their duties include organizing finished goods inventory for easy retrieval as new orders come in, reviewing outgoing shipment schedules to maintain productive operations and documenting variance to outgoing shipment/variance for later fulfillment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead neat and efficient Shipping Department reducing order fulfillment time.
• Help identify workload by reviewing the daily production & shipping schedules.
• Coordinate daily work assignments to shipping clerk.
• Support ongoing training of shipping clerk and participate in OPW based training such as 6S-Lean.
• Comply with prescribed shipping work processes and implement process improvements.
• Use best practice techniques for efficiently packing and shipment of products.
• Package product for shipping in a manner which ensures damage-free delivery.
• Take Corrective Action against quality /quantity issues. Log discrepancies.
• Receive finished goods into the ERP System per the company’s standard operating procedures.
• Coordinate processes for timely and accurate finished goods pulls to meet customer OTD.
• Identify issues and work to resolve them with all departments.
• Discuss shipping delays with customer service/other departments.

• Be familiar with Customer Packing/Shipping Guidelines.
• EDI import/export documents/Assist with international orders.
• Assign shipping method (UPS, Fed Ex, Trucking Logistics Companies, etc.) and use carrier software to prepare bill of ladings, labels, and other documents associated with shipments.
• Perform any approved and necessary “work arounds” to meet delivery.
• Respond to assembly notification of any variance to plan.
• Accurately stock incoming finished goods inventory; ensure there are no finished goods in the incoming que at the end of the business day.
• Maintain daily inventory accuracy.
• Assist and participate in annual inventory.
• Maintain safe and organized work area daily.

• Comply with all Forklift and Safety operating procedures.
• Collect necessary data for performance evaluation of department and transportation vendors.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) or equivalent
• 18+ years of age
• Able to work rapidly at a consistent pace for entire shift
• Able to read, write and communicate
• Able to work on computer, keyboarding
• Able to maintain accuracy in order count for shipment
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Tow Motor Skills/Certification Preferred
