Master Certified Teachers

All instructors are certified K-12 teachers with content mastery in their subject matter to ensure student achievement.

21st Century Classrooms

Each student is supplied a Chromebook and headphones to have access to course curriculum and supplemental resources including video lessons and customized lab work 24/7.

Every student deserves a learning plan that focuses on their individual strengths and areas for growth, providing ownership of learning for students and families alike

As the highest leadership body of the organization and to satisfy its fiduciary duties, the Board is responsible for:

Determining the mission and purposes of the organization

Selecting and evaluating the performance of the Superintendent

Strategic and organizational planning

Ensuring strong fiduciary oversight and financial management

Fundraising and resource development

Approving and monitoring SHA's programs, services and ultimately organizational outcomes Enhancing SHA's public image

Assessing its own performance as the governing body of SHA

EXPECTATIONS OF INDIVIDUAL BOARD MEMBERS

Embody SHA's mission, policies, programs and needs

Faithfully read and understand the organization's financial statements

Serve as an active advocate and ambassador for the organization and full engage in identifying and securing the financial resources and partnerships necessary for SHA to advance its mission

Leverage connections, networks, and resources to develop collective action to fully achieve SHA's mission

Give a meaningful personal financial donation

Help identify personal connections that can benefit the organization's fundraising and reputation standing

Prepare for, attend, and conscientiously participate in Board meetings

Participate fully in one or more committees based on personal strengths

Follow the SHA's bylaws, policies, and Board resolutions

Sign an annual conflict-of-interest disclosure and provide updates as necessary, as well as disclose potential conflicts during meetings

Maintain confidentiality about all internal matters of SHA
