JOB SUMMARY:

The main responsibility of a Slot Attendant is to provide outstanding guest service. Slot Attendants provide this service by ensuring a timely response to customer’s needs including paying jackpots, minor machine repairs and filling empty ticket printers. All functions will be performed within the guidelines of the Saracen Casino Resort policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Observes all activity within assigned area offering assistance to slot players, and instruction and advice on machine functions and payouts
  • Knowledgeable of the various types of slot machines and is able to identify major malfunctions and correct minor machine malfunctions
  • Identifies jackpots to be paid and processes and completes them promptly, accurately and with a high degree of service
  • Aware of the various types of slot cheating methods and is able to recognize any potential attempts while monitoring assigned section
  • Capable of handling routine customer complaints and incidents and exhibits the appropriate discretion to identify situations that require the attention of supervisory personnel
  • Ensures that slot playing guests are kept in play by providing friendly and helpful service at all interactions
  • Promotes Players Club and property events
  • Presents oneself with open body language to guests on casino floor while patrolling; politely speak with and assist them as needed
  • Assists in maintaining a spotless casino by disposing of any cups, glasses or bottles left on the floor by guests
  • Maintains monetary and paperwork accuracy and efficiency within department/property standards
  • Understands and complies with company and departmental directives
  • Adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner

  • Responsible for slot machine keys
  • Provides exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner at all times. Maintains a professional work environment with supervisors and staff.
  • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
  • Attends all necessary training meetings.
  • Assist in other projects, as directed.
  • Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed. Hours are determined by 24-hour schedule.


QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily.

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age or older upon employment.
  • High school diploma or its equivalency required.
  • Previous money handling experience preferred.
  • Possess professionalism skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of various internal written & verbal codes/abbreviations.
  • Professional appearance.
  • (redundant)Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.
  • Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.
  • Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid gaming license.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues.
  • Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening.

  • Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations and be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items.
  • Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time (8-12 hours).
  • Have a sense of urgency and keep up with fast paced business practices.
  • Operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.
  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.
