QUALIFICATIONS
:
-
Graduate of an accredited education course in speech and language pathology.
-
Licensed in the state in which they will be practicing.
-
Meets one of the following requirements: The education and experience requirements for a Certificate of Clinical Competence in (speech-language pathology) granted by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association; or meets the educational requirements for certification and is in the process of accumulating the supervised experience required for certification
-
Must not be excluded or sanctioned from state or federal program.

Demonstrate professional attitude and appearance.

Proficient administrative and communication within department and facility and company.
-
Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, and equipment used in the practice of their discipline.

Display working knowledge of multidisciplinary practice scopes in the Outpatient, ALF, ILF and/or LTC setting.
-
Thorough knowledge of all payer source documentation and payment requirements.
-
Ability to use analytical skills to develop outcome driven solutions.
-
Prior EMR/computer experience.

Must be able to walk, sit, stand, stoop, squat, bend, lift, push, pull, balance, and perform overhead activity without restriction or limitation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
:

Must uphold the professional, legal and ethical standards of practice for speech and language pathology as defined by the ASHA and State Practice Act

Responsible for service and operational excellence of all assigned activities to ensure the delivery of quality services and/or outcomes required to meet or exceed the expectations of those utilizing or impacted by the rehab department

Performs initial patient examination, evaluation, interpretation of referrals, and creates the initial plan of care for each patient and revises as appropriate

Creates and maintains a patient record for each patient treats

Provides on-site assessment and re-evaluation of each patient’s treatment according to the State or Federal required interval, whichever is more stringent, and adjusts the treatment plan as appropriate
