We are seeking a Social Support Specialist, for our Celilo Cancer Center, to join our Case Management department. This position is a full-time, scheduled 36 hours per week and is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package.

Location:
Mid Columbia Medical Center is located in The Dalles, Oregon. We work, live, and play in the scenic Columbia River Gorge, Oregon. Located 85 miles east of Portland in the majestic Columbia River Gorge, The Dalles features old-growth forests, rushing waterfalls, and year-round access to outdoor recreation, including downhill and cross-country skiing, world-class water sports, and miles of hiking and mountain biking trails. The area boasts award-winning wineries, and, most importantly, warm, friendly people.
Responsibilities:
Provides social work services to patients and their families in in-patient care settings. Participates with the interdisciplinary health team to implement patient care. Services may include psychosocial assessment, treatment planning, utilization review, discharge planning, counseling, education, and community agency referral. Performs related work as assigned. Duties and responsibilities may vary depending upon department assignment.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • Bachelors degree required. Degree in field related to Social Work, Sociology preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
  • Experience:
    • One year of social work experience in a health care setting preferred
  • Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
    • Ability to conduct interpersonal interactions in person, on the telephone and in writing.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with clients of all levels of education.
    • Computer proficient (email, internet/intranet; Microsoft Office).
