Software Developer I (US - Contract)

We are owners of the internal developer portal for all of Expedia Group. Backstage is an open-source platform, where our company has contributed functionality and built in house tooling on top of. We also own the chatops capability which supports the day to day for developers as well as compliment Backstage Platform We are a well rounded team that focuses on developers as our customers. We are a global and diverse team of very passionate technical professionals.

What you will do:

• Creates software code for a plethora of practical uses
• May work on a number of projects, which could include creating software systems, designing mobile apps, creating a project from the ground up, working on bettering an existing project, modifying an existing product, testing software and debugging programs
• Maintenance of all projects may also be required depending upon the position held by the Software Developer
• Build and maintain plugins, flows, packs services within the Backstage ecosystem and ChatOps platform
• Build APIs, Databases, etc and connect AWS resources to services that help improve productivity for developers
• Work on ChatOps and workflow capabilities to automate day to day functionality and reliability of the platforms

Who you are:

• Intermediate knowledge of Javascript, Node.JS, React
• Intermediate knowledge python, or equivalent
• Experience with Cloud AWS is requred
• Some knowledge of designing and building APIs, databases, schemas, etc
• Ability to be a go-getter who is interested in learning new things

Please note contractors are engaged to provide services to Expedia Group on a temporary basis in connection with a specific assignment. Contractors are hired and employed through Atrium, our third-party payrolling partner.
