The Motus Software Quality Assurance team is looking for a seasoned QA Analyst to join our team. In this role, you'll need to be able to walk the line between technology and business needs, and, most importantly, to empathize with customers and end-users as you conceptualize what and how to test the products that serve them. You'll work with other QA team members, as well as developers and product management resources to understand requirements, find and squash software bugs and help deliver quality throughout our unique products. Ideally, you also have experience in a SaaS-based environment and have tested web and mobile apps previously. Your stellar communication skills enable you to effectively communicate the status of your testing progress, key testing risks and issues and any bugs you've uncovered.
The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of prior product testing experience and is excited to put their creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills to good use by helping to deliver an exceptional product.
Position Duties:
- Represent QA in product design, development and testing meetings
- Interpret requirements, specifications and diagrams for testing implications, and create or adjust testing plans accordingly
- Design test plans, charters and test cases, and collaborate with other teams to gain insights and communicate them to QA team members and leaders
- Execute both formal and informal test cases and guide junior QA team members in test execution
- Find bugs, write bug reports and work with developers and product management resources to resolve and retest them
- Follow defined testing standards, methods, and procedures, offer recommendations and solutions to testing issues to QA leaders
- Use both manual and automated testing tools to create and run test cases / scripts and make recommendations to QA leaders based on your experience and industry trends
- Use departmental templates, checklists and tools consistently and contribute to their creation and updating as directed by QA Leaders
- Coach and mentor junior QA peers and work with QA leadership to master QA principles, standards and methodologies
- Leverage critical thinking to identify feature vulnerabilities and uncover edge cases while performing integration testing
- Create and distribute QA progress and bug reports to various audiences
- Assist with estimating QA effort for projects, features and releases
- Hone QA skills, techniques and intuition
- Perform research on QA trends, tools and technologies, and present findings to QA leaders
- Automate test cases as directed by senior QA staff
- Assist with automation feasibility analyses on new and existing features, work with automation engineers to ensure appropriate automation coverage
- Take ownership of small to medium projects
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree Preferred
- 2+ years experience in a SaaS-based environment (web / mobile)
- Prior experience with API testing
- Experience in agile (Scrum) environment
- Prior experience in the mobile device management or Finance domains preferred
- Basic SQL skills
- Manual and automated testing Testing
- Test Planning - Authoring Test Strategies, Test Scenarios, Test Cases, Estimates
- Experience with testing tools (XRay, Smartbear, Squash, Jira, Appium, Bamboo, Postman or others)
- Must be extremely detail-oriented in regard to verbal and written documentation and communication
- High energy and motivation with an ability to adapt to change
- Must have the desire for delivering excellence in product quality, and reliability
- Passion for collaborative problem-solving
- Must be able to keep track of multiple tasks at once, manage your time efficiently, and appropriately prioritize your work
- Self-Motivated and able to work independently in a remote work environment
