Job Title: Solar Technician - Operations & Maintenance

Project Locations:

Compensation: Competitive hourly salary, 1.5x overtime rate, company truck, gas card, vehicle insurance, yearly bonus, training & accreditations, healthcare, PTO, company credit card, and more.

Summary: Our company is seeking to hire Solar Technicians for our Operations & Maintenance organization. We offer full on-the-job training, so no prior experience in Solar or Renewables is necessary. You will mostly work locally and be home most nights, with occasional hotel stays required (all expenses paid).

Experience Requirements: Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams.

Responsibilities:
As a Solar Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Supporting the team with the upkeep, testing, and troubleshooting of low, medium, and high voltage apparatus, including inverters, combiner boxes, switchgear, transformers, voltage regulators, electrical protective devices, primary and backup generators, metering systems, and battery support systems.
• Ensuring that safe work practices, company safety procedures, and policies are followed during the installation and upkeep of these systems.
• Establishing and maintaining the conduit, wiring, and electrical service equipment necessary for solar PV systems to operate properly.
• Aiding with site preparation and clean-up, staging items, general site work support, and overall crew support.
• Completing daily paperwork and providing regular job status reports.
• Executing quality control to identify risks and flaws.
• Installing and maintaining photovoltaic (PV) systems in compliance with codes and standards by using plans, schematics, and instructions, and the proper hand and power instruments.
• Designing, assembling, and installing solar modules, panels, or support structures as required.
• Adding weather sealing to an array, a structure, its supporting structures, or a breaker box.
• Locating and fixing any issues with the materials or installation of a photovoltaic (PV) system.
• Affixing the necessary labels to the hardware and components of the solar system.
• Identifying the supplies, tools, and installation procedures required to enhance installation efficiency.
• Turning on photovoltaic (PV) systems to check for system functionality and performance objectives.
• Maintaining a record of system performance, maintenance, and operation.
• Participating in all safety and pre-job preparation conversations.
• Understanding each safety risk and warning sign and acting accordingly.
• Maintaining a secure and sanitary workplace while adhering to established safety norms and regulations.
• Generating high-quality work while adhering to plans, specifications, and industry norms.

Qualifications:

• Background in commercial or industrial electrical for construction or maintenance.
• Ability to read and understand single line diagrams is a must.
• IT literate.
• Reliable.
• Willingness to travel when needed (local travel only).
• Experience with medium voltage is desirable, but not essential.
