Goal of the Project

The goal of this project is to assist Solid Ground with restoring and rebuilding relationships with community partners, landlords and participants. This would be done through a variety of restorative and connection practices such as healing circles, committee creations, community surveys, and assisting with the creation of Solid Ground’s comprehensive DEI plan. This position will work closely with the Program Director and requires excellent interpersonal skills and communication.

Project Objectives

• Assist in restoring the relationship with Solid Ground participants at our Site Based Program
• Help create a documented process for leading and facilitating Resident council meetings,
• Assist with creating a comprehensive community Survey and work with Program Director to create a 2-year plan to address community needs
• Assist with creating a comprehensive landlord database, and creation of marketing material
• Work with Program Director with creating community engagement events for all programs that focus on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
• Assist with creating a physical space for residents where they can practice restorative techniques as well as the creation of a healing space
• Lead the initiative to bring an inclusive space to East Metro Place by engaging the residents on the new addition to the building

Responsibilities

• Support the creation of community needs surveys and collection of evaluation data from participants and landlords
• Coordinate, organize, and facilitate meetings with Solid Ground’s Community Advisory Board and Parent Advisory Committee across programs
• Willingness to work within equitable and inclusive frameworks and actively engage in ongoing learning about these frameworks within the mission of end of housing instability
• Conduct outreach and hold key conversations with landlords and organizations on supportive housing and the role of Solid Ground
• Establishing and maintaining respectful, authentic working relationships with community partners and other stakeholders to address housing disparities among populations disproportionately affected by homelessness.
• Assist with creating a comprehensive landlord awareness and education campaign
• Create a Landlord Committee with a focus on Landlord rights and program education
• Support the objectives of the Solid Grounds Housing Committee. For example: expanding the pool of rental units available to scattered site housing participants
• Work with Leadership Team on creating an agency DEI plan, with an emphasis on community engagement

Qualifications

Fellows are not required to have had previous job experience. This is an entry level position designed to catalyze your career and leadership development. We do, though, seek the following traits:

• Must have a Driver’s license and a good driving record
• Ability to pass DHS background check
• Have knowledge of pluralism and diversity issues, and ability to effectively communicate and work with diverse populations to encourage full participation in Solid Ground
