Sound Supervisor
Formosa Interactive
Formosa Interactive is looking for a Sound Supervisor to oversee and support game audio projects and help guide portfolio strategy for the Seattle studio. This is a fulltime position with benefits. A flexible combination of remote and onsite work is the norm within our culture of creative collaboration.
Set the tone and oversee audio direction across one or more projects. Build and manage audio teams for each project, while providing creative leadership. Drive innovation and best practices at the studio. Responsibilities
- Contribute as part of the creative leadership team of Formosa Interactive and the Seattle studio
- Work directly with game development teams to plan embedded development partnerships
- Collaborate with client creative directors and audio directors
- Set the audio aesthetic for projects, raising the quality bar across the studio
- Design game audio systems and oversee their development
- Build audio teams for specific projects, and the overall studio growth strategy
- Oversee the creative work of audio leads, sound designers, and audio implementors
- Manage audio personnel
Required Skills
Leadership & People Skills
- 5+ years’ experience as an Audio Director at a game development or publishing company
- A growth mindset and eagerness to mentor and develop talent
- Cross-discipline collaborative experience, both creative and technical
- Empathy and desire to foster an inclusive environment
- 3+ years’ people management experience
- A portfolio of successfully shipped games as an audio lead/audio director
Creative Design Skills
- High degree of sound design, music design, and/or technical sound design proficiency
- A high-level understanding of the game development process across disciplines
- Big-picture creativity applied to large scale projects
Technical & Production Skills
- Deep familiarity with modern game audio development environments, with an eye to their evolution
- Experience shipping games with Unreal, Unity, or similar proprietary game editor
- Experience wholistically setting up structures and systems within Wwise audio middleware or similar
- Wide range of experiences with game audio production pipelines and how to find efficiencies
Qualifications
- High School education or equivalent required.
- BA/BS in applicable field preferred.

The listed pay range is the salary or hourly wage range that we reasonably expect to pay for this position at the time of posting. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of factors including but not limited to background, skills, experience, education, geographic location, and market demands.
