Overview:
Pay Rate: $52-56k/yr

Summary:
The Sous Chef position reports directly to the Executive Chef. The Sous Chef has the responsibility of planning and directing the food preparation in the kitchen. The Sous Chef will have an-depth familiarity with the kitchen’s operations in the event that they need to fill in for the executive chef as needed. S/He will also assist in resolving an problems.
S/he must delegate job tasks to a large staff. They must also coach and mentor junior chefs.

Responsibilities: Responsibilities:
  • Work with the executive chef to produce diversified menus in accordance with the restaurant’s policy and vision
  • Devise new dish creations for members and their guests, whenever required
  • Establish the working schedule and organize the work in the kitchen
  • Produce high quality dishes that follow up the established menu and level up to location’s standards, as well as to clients’ requirements
  • Plan the food design in order to create a perfect match between the dish’s aspect and its taste
  • Mentor talented chefs and train them
  • Train the kitchen staff
  • Develop marketing strategy with creative pairings of food and wines
  • Follow and ensure that all hygiene and food safety standards are met in all stages of food preparation
  • Ensure that kitchen equipment is in good condition

Qualifications: Qualifications:
Must have at least 2 years’ experience in fine dining restaurant or event kitchen.
Country Club experience is a plus.

Physical Demands:
Work is performed in a restaurant setting, both indoors and outdoors. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance and objects in excess of 50 pounds with assistance. Stands, sits, or walks for an extended time period. Subject to bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping and lifting.
