Summary:

The Spanish Bilingual Case Manager Lead will be responsible for day-to-day case managers assignments for Unaccompanied Children (UAC) in accordance with all agencies policies, licensing and funding standards and requirements, and other federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.


Essential Functions

  • Responsible for coordinating case management and supervising the work of all case managers
  • Follow up with any case managers on any identified issues during case staffing
  • Train new case managers
  • Ensure case managers are providing services to all UAC in our care
  • Actively participate and verify case managers are participating in weekly case staffing with ORR designated Case Coordinator
  • Oversee, manage, and ensure family or sponsor reunification for UAC are completed in a timely manner as per ORR required timeframes
  • Set plans to work with child welfare programs
  • Review and monitor the intake of all UAC
  • Verify, complete assessments, and approve the process for incoming UAC
  • Assist with the interview process of UAC to create a plan
  • Provide case management services that meet the needs of the UAC
  • Review and ensure eligibility are met
  • Obtain pertinent information to assist in the delivery of program services
  • Maintain an active caseload in conjunction with other duties
  • Maintain accordance with Agency policies, licensing and funding standards and requirements, and other federal, state, and local regulatory requirements


Knowledge and Skills

  • Intermediate level or above proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook
  • Proficiency in SharePoint desired
  • Knowledge of operating standard office equipment
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently


Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in the behavioral sciences, human services or social services fields or bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 3 years progressive employment experience that demonstrates supervisory and case management experience
  • One (1) year or more Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) experience
  • 2-5 years’ experience recording case management activities
  • 1 year or more experience as a case manager working with children
  • 1 year of related experience and/or training including experience working in CBP facility, ORR operated shelters, and providing services for unaccompanied, preferred
  • Experience working with immigrant populations and child welfare, preferred
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish and be prepared to demonstrate their proficiency
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS)
  • You must complete a favorable Background Investigation (BI), pre-employment drug screening and may be required to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record is required
