Tiverton School Department100 North Brayton RoadTiverton, RI 02878VACANCYPOSITION: SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHERLOCATION: TIVERTON HIGH SCHOOLSTARTING DATE: ASAPSALARY: PER TEACHERS CONTRACTQUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors or Masters Degree Secondary Special Ed Certificate Required Valid certification from RIDE Proof of Covid 19 VaccinePlan and implement motivating and creative age-appropriate activities to address goals outlined in each students IEP.Collaborate and co-teach with general education teachers in an inclusion settingCollaborate with other teachers and therapists to implement an integrated educational/ therapeutic model.Develop lesson plans, progress reports, and IEPs within specified timelines as directed.Create a learning environment where the students are stimulated and motivated to work to their best potential.Design and implement appropriate academic and social goals for all students.Facilitate interactions among students that provide opportunities for emotional, social, and cognitive growth.Collaborate with other educators and specialists in planning, adapting, and teaching the curriculum for all learners.Maintain data records on each students progress in order to be used to write accurate evaluations and/or progress reports.Develop, implement, and maintain proactive, open, and transparent contact with families.
