Autism Behavior Therapies (ABT) is seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. ABT is dedicated to serving our multi-cultural population, so it is a rewarding and challenging position, allowing the SLP to make a real difference in the lives of children with developmental disabilities and/or speech disorders. As a SLP in Virginia, you will work alongside our professional group of BCBAs, BCaBAs, over 70 highly trained and fully committed behavior clinicians, as well as with our children and families. Salary: 55-60 per hour

Position: Full-time / Part-time

Education: Master’s degree in related field

License: VA license in SLP (Required)

Experience: At least 1 year or more (Preferred)

Location: Woodbridge, VA

Reports to: Program Director and Director of Operations of ABT

Summary of Position: The Speech Language Pathologist, SLP will work to assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults.

Job Responsibilities:

· Assessing, diagnosing, screening, and treating language, speech, and swallowing disorders.

· Creating treatment and therapy plans to suit the individualized needs of a diverse population of clients.

· Educating clients and family members about speech disorders and causes, including disabilities and traumatic events.

· Reporting progress and current status to appropriate parties, which may include family members, teachers, or medical professionals.

· Communicating with the client, and working with their family members, physicians, and teachers to design effective treatment plans.

· Using tried and tested therapies in combination with new, innovative techniques to provide the best care.

· Keeping up to date with advancements in the field by attending conferences, conducting research, and expanding professional and academic networks.

· Educating clients and their families on speech disorders and available therapies.

· Taking detailed notes on patient history and progress.

· Providing mentoring and workshops to speech therapy students.

· Evaluating patient progress and implementing changes to therapy programs as required.

Position Requirements:

· Master’s degree in related field

· VA SLP license

· Experience with certain disorders and age groups for at least one year or more

· Strong understanding of speech-related disorders and treatments.

· Excellent coaching and verbal and written communication skills.

· Proficiency with computers, especially patient and healthcare databases.

· Attentive and caring attitude with the ability to develop individualized education plans

(IEPs).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
