Job Summary:
Acts as a liaison between the Information Technology (IT) development group and the company’s business/refining units for the development and implementation of new systems and enhancement of existing systems. Prioritizes business requests. Facilitates activities when multiple areas of IT need to be involved, such as cross-functional changes to applications and system-integration testing for projects. Stays current on technologies and business processes. Evaluates new applications and identifies systems requirements. Identifies evolving business requirements, measures business processes and application performance, and recommends appropriate systems alternatives and/or
enhancements to current systems. Prepares communications and makes presentations on system enhancements and/or alternatives. Understands the data and how the business processes function within the IT applications. Maintains a base understanding of interfacing applications. Supports the IT
environment by being responsible for third-party applications. Maintains relationships with suppliers and third-party application providers. Conducts periodic reviews of application documentation. Manages change requests including creating "child" work requests, handling "run the business"
requests and providing statistics on active and completed requests. Note: IT has work requests (parents) that sometimes require sub-requests (child), and the Business Analyst is responsible for both. Proactively monitors and communicates the status of incidents and outages and drives resolution. Analyzes data and trends to identify a root cause; then addresses the problem. May lead
project steps or full projects and follows the software development life cycle. Ensures that projects and applications follow IT standards. Periodically reviews the applications and coordinates with audit during audit reviews.

Education Requirements:
Minimum U.S. bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or
related engineering degree.

Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 7 years of experience in programming and systems analysis with IntelaTrac (plant-operations software) and Gasboy (fuel-management systems) refining applications and incorporating federal Clean Air Act Title V compliance. Minimum of 5 years (inclusive) of information technology experience with Microsoft application development tools including C# or VB.NET programming language, SQL Server database management, and SQL Server Reporting
Services (SSRS) report generation. Minimum of 5 years (inclusive) of information technology experience in analysis, design, implementation, and support of the security-system tools Genetec Security Desk and Lenel Onguard. Minimum of 5 years (inclusive) of experience with Sybase databases and programming. Minimum of 3 years (inclusive) of experience in an oil refinery(ies)
conducting analysis, design, implementation, and support of OSIsoft PI products including PI Archive, PI Asset Framework, PI Integrator for Business Analytics, and PI Vision (for process engineering).
