Sr Maintenance Manager - SME for Conveyance Systems
Job description
Job Summary:
Manage one or more local maintenance teams, providing leadership and direction to ensure an efficient and cost effective organization. Assist and mentor others across the network as required. Analyze team and equipment performance and drive improvements in safety, reliability, quality, and productivity.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership for maintenance staff through effective communication, coaching, training and development. Define future state, set departmental goals, and communicate goals with staff, gain support and commitment.
- Measure staff against core values and ensure commitment and accountability.
- Monitor and track Maintenance Department KPIs. Develop and implement action plans to improve performance.
- Manage the maintenance resources and coordinate maintenance activities with operations in order to efficiently execute preventive maintenance and repair routines.
- Ensure all safety and quality procedures and policies are followed on a consistent basis. Perform accident investigation as necessary, identify root cause, and necessary corrective action.
- Provide assistance and technical support to operations in LEAN activities to identify and eliminate forms of waste.
- Plan and schedule maintenance tasks in order to achieve reliability objectives.
- Assist in capital projects as needed, providing technical support for installation and start-up support of all new critical equipment.
- Support operational continuous improvement efforts as a subject matter expert resource.
Management Responsibilities:
- Typically manages through multiple Managers and/or Supervisors
- Oversee major projects/programs/outcomes
- Budget responsibility
- Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects; develop, recommend and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies
- Provide general guidelines and parameters for staff functioning
- Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Work Experience:
- At least 4 years of maintenance team management experience.
- At least 7 years overall maintenance experience.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Knowledge and application of lean tools, root cause analysis, failure mode & effect analysis.
- Knowledge and use of schematics, test equipment, multi-meters, oscilloscopes, digital thermometers, pressure meters, data loggers, and other relevant maintenance tools.
- Willing to wear a full-face respirator as task requires.
- Position may require work on weekends or other hours outside of regularly scheduled work hours as business needs dictate.
- Proficient in CMMS and Microsoft Office.
- Environmental Conditions: Warehouse, varying temperatures & volume of noise.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor Degree in a related field.
Work Experience:
- Managing remote teams.
- Serving as a lead subject matter expert in automation/robotic technology.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Skill/ability to maintain robotic systems.
- Adherence to a Quality Assurance Program.
