Job Summary

This Sr Onshore Project Engineer primary focus is to conceptualize, design, coordinate and manage through start-up, the execution of greenfield and brownfield projects of varying sizes and complexity involving oil & gas facilities including meter stations, pipelines, compressor stations, gas plants and other related facilities. The engineer also works with a multidisciplinary technical team to plan and execute development plans for assigned assets. All work will be performed in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and government requirements.

The Sr Onshore Project Engineer will work in our Houston Corporate office and may work two (2) days a week remote.

Responsibilities

Works closely with draftsmen, pipe designers, construction, and engineers to develop accurate and concise P&ID, PFD, cause/effect, and other drawings as required by the project. For larger projects, will be Company’s liaison to engineering firm. Reviews and facilitates team approval for all drawings up through construction

Must be able to develop project scopes, estimate project costs, and prepare funding requests

Must be proficient in developing project budgets and controlling costs.

Must be able to prepare bid requests and evaluate such based-on sound engineering and business principles

Must be able to handle assignments and projects with minimal supervision and complete within acceptable time standards

Must be capable of providing equipment specifications per Company standards and procure appropriate materials for projects.

Perform line sizing calculations

Sizing of equipment, i.e., heat exchangers, pumps distillation tower, filtration equipment, etc.

Lead/Participate in HAZOP’s

Assist Business Development in the preliminary design and cost estimates of proposed facilities

Must have broad knowledge of oil and gas processing and operations.

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

Minimum 7 years’ experience in the design and/or operation of oil/gas facilities

Knowledge of process simulation programs (HYSYS, etc), sizing of equipment and valves, hydraulic calculations

Familiar with API Recommended Practices, ASME and NFPA codes

Familiar with upstream oil and gas production and processing

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

Additional experience in start-up of oil/gas facilities and project management
