Shift: 1st shift. P/T role. 20-32 hrs/wk - flexible
Work Experience:
- BS technical degree
- 20+ years relevant experience in Product Validation Testing / Quality Engineering / Design Engineering
- Aero Engine Airflow Test and Evaluation experience at (SME) Subject Matter Expert level
- Other Testing, Metrology, Quality Certifications - noteworthy
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Create / Establish Aero testing standards, masters, SW, test procedures for OEM product validation / verification testing
- Set-up test equipment/Run test/Evaluate data and test hardware/ Generate engineering reports
- Provide technical work review / training / mentorship-OJT within discipline
- Conduct other industry common Lab Manager activities
- In general, QE’s execute work (services) in any/all of the following Quality functions:
- Quality Management System (QMS)
- Part & Process Qualification / Verification
- Non-Conforming Material
- Continuous Improvement / Development
- Engage with customer, customer’s suppliers, et al in a competent, technical, and professional manner (SME/PoC/Lead)
- Product Life Cycle experience with complex mechanical components/assemblies/products - aero/marine/industrial gas turbine preferred.
- Ability to establish/interpret/review quality requirements.
- Familiarity with AS9100, AS13100, AS9145, AS9110, AS6081, ISO 9001, FAA/FARs, DCMA/DoD
- Capable of reading technical drawings utilizing GD&T
- Knowledge of modern high tech manufacturing processes (metal, composites, coatings)
- Inspection planning, gage calibration, R&R studies
- DoE / Test planning, validation/verification testing, test data analysis
- Leading / Reviewing PPAP / MRL elements; FAI
- Conducting QE activities tied to Supplier selection, NPI launches, Transitions, Supplier Auditing, Training/Development initiatives.
- Evaluating non-conforming material, product recall, MRB, RC-CA
- Presenting technical data/results to customer and regulatory representatives
- Advanced MS office tools (Excel – pivot, charts, lookups, macros; PowerPoint - tech presentations, training; Word – procedural writing)
- Electronic MRP / SW / WI systems (input/mining/extracting/analyzing)
- Statistical based tools, sampling, analysis, metrics
- Developing/mentoring less experienced engineers
- Establish/build customer relations – create sustained customer champions
- Service Provider mindset
- Self-motivated, disciplined, and organized
- Maintain integrity & ethics in all situations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Office/Home and Shop Floor Environments (Safety / PPE)
- Common activities include sitting, walking and standing
- Substantial amounts of computer work
- Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures
- Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early, OT
- Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations
