The leader in the refuse truck industry in California and Arizona is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their Sun Valley team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Monthly & Yearly Accounting Close.
• Work hand in hand with Controller to maintain ongoing sound foundation for accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain General Ledger (COA, Item Structure, etc.)
• Journal Entries to sustain GAAP monthly (Prepaid, Accruals, Recurring, etc.)
• Fixed nAsset Management.
• Monthly Reconciliation of Balance Sheet Accounts, complete monthly support schedules.
• Analyze COGS & G&A Expenses, complete monthly analysis schedules.
• Provide reconciled Monthly Trial Balance for Controller Review & Reporting.
• Inventory / Cost Accounting Support.
• Key member of multi departmental team project for the development of a new Inventory Management System for manufacturing.
• Collaborate with Controller/Operations on Bills of Materials Development.
• Cost Accounting Support.
• MFG Cost Set Up & Auditing.
• Manufacturing Cost Variance Analysis.
• Inventory Analysis to support Procurement Process.
• Key member of Physical Inventory Count Process & Valuation of Asset.
• Bi weekly Payroll processing in QuickBooks (Time & Attendance program uAttend).
• Collaborate with Controller and management in the development of Departmental Budgets & Monthly Variance reporting.
• Support ongoing Company KPI Measurement & Reporting.
• Supports day to day Accounting & Administration requirements.
• Cash Management support.
• Account Payable & Receivable Support.
• Customer Service Support.
• Processing of all monthly, quarterly and annual business filings.
• Quarterly Filing for tax requirements.
• CADTFA (CA Department of Tax and Fee Administration) liability.
• AZ State TPT (Transaction Privilege Tax).
• Federal Excise Tax.
• Business License Filings.
• Business Property Tax.
• Workers Compensation Reporting.
• Performs regular ad hoc assignments and reporting, as required to support the goals of the business.
• Assists in implementation and maintenance of internal controls processes, compliance.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and operational functions.
• GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Manufacturing Cost Accounting.
• Capitalization/Depreciation.
• Proactive self-starter with positive attitude & collaborative approach.
• High level of interpersonal skills, diplomacy.
• Strong ethical standards, trustworthy with sound judgment.
• Outstanding organizational, time management, multitasking & prioritization skills.
• Exceptional team player.
• Proficiency in MS Office; focus on Excel, Word, Outlook & SharePoint.
• Strong systems experience required, with solid QuickBooks experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal & written communications skills.
• Ability to thrive in a high paced environment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Experience & Education:

• Ten years accumulative, relevant accounting experience preferred.
• Degree in Accounting preferred.

Monday thru Friday – 8am to 5pm

$33.65 to $40.87hr depending on experience.
