Your Opportunity: Taylor Corporation is looking for an energetic, professional, and highly organized
Accountant to work in North Mankato, MN.
This opportunity will support the full cycle accounting process for Taylor Corporation and its affiliate companies. The Accountant supports several company entities in various aspects of the financial cycle including; month-end close, variance analysis, financial reporting, and annual budgets. This position reports to an Accounting Supervisor and is an integral part of the Accounting and Finance team. This position is accountable to identify, communicate and perform accounting best practices according to GAAP. Responsibilities also include significant interaction with company entities leadership and financial teams.
Your Responsibilities:

Perform month-end financial close activities including preparation and/or review of variety of journal entries, reconciliations, analysis and reporting.

Assists in preparation of company budgets and forecasting

Performs various analysis: Profit, cost, break even, ROI

Learn, research, apply, and implement the various accounting policy changes and additions

Prepare and support internal and external audit requests by compiling information and analyzing key areas including; inventory, revenues and prepaid expenses.

Act as a department resource in specific areas of accounting expertise (i.e. intercompany accounting, intangibles and goodwill)

Assist with special projects that may require being part of a cross functional team.
You Must Have:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required with 3 to 5 years General Ledger experience

Demonstrated experience with Accounting principles and practices with GAAP

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Curiosity to understand processes and to help drive more accurate and timely reporting

Willingness and capability to learn and to recommend improvements where needed

Work independently and prioritize multiple assignments appropriately to meet deadlines effectively and efficiently
-
Communicate effectively in a courteous, professional and timely manner

ERP experience (Oracle/Infor/SAP, etc.) is a plus
-
Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel)

Demonstrated competence and excellence in spelling and grammar skills
We Also Would Prefer:
- CPA/CMA/CFA/MBA (or working toward certifications)
