Job Summary:
The Department of Facilities Management and Development at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Staff Assistant. The successful candidate will:
- Draft correspondence for regulatory reports, filing and reports for DOH, EPA, TJC, FDA and others.
- Support for required reporting of corrective actions based upon regulatory findings.
- Support with timekeeping, vacation schedules, and overtime records.
- Coordinate and complete payroll records.
- Conduct tracking of filing and tracking of service contracts and purchase requisitions and orders.
- Provide administrative support for the physical plant administrators as well as other staff of FM&D as required.
- Maintain documentation in personnel file and department files.
- Keep abreast of availability of supplies and notify supervisor of relevant changes as appropriate.
- Prepare letters, memos, forms and statistical reports.
- Maintain filing system, generate statistical chart, track and record monthly unscheduled attendance.
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of administrative/office-setting experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree preferred.
Work Schedule:
Variable Days; 8:00am to 4:00pm
