Job description
The UCLA Immigrant Family Legal Clinic (IFLC) seeks a Staff Attorney to begin in summer of 2023. The position is open to recent law graduates.

IFLC is a unique partnership between the UCLA School of Law and the Los Angeles Unified School District. Located on the campus of the Robert F. Kennedy Community Schools (RFKC) in Koreatown/Pico Union, the clinic serves immigrant students at the six public schools on the RFK campus, as well as their family members. IFLC provides individual representation in cases involving immigration relief and workers' rights. It also offers legal consultations involving a wider range of legal topics, including housing, public benefits, and criminal justice. In addition, IFLC organizes programming and enrichment opportunities related to social justice and legal rights for teachers, students, and families in the RFK community, and develops policy advocacy and research projects responsive to needs identified by the community.

The Staff Attorney is based at IFLC's office on the campus of RFK Community Schools. They provide a crucial reliable onsite presence for the clinic, as the law students are back-and-forth between UCLA and RFK. The Staff Attorney is responsible for providing direct representation to RFK students, legal consultations to the RFK community, serving as a resource for administrators, teachers, and parents, and leading the clinic's outreach and community education work. They will also work closely with the Clinic Director and Senior Staff Attorney on developing and managing the docket and advocacy projects the clinic undertakes, and supervising law students on their casework.
