What You'll Do
As a member of our Fifer's staff, you'll represent the almost 100-year history of Fifer grown fruit and vegetables. You’ll be the face of the farm and provide our community with the highest quality products and remarkable customer service.

Fifer's Dewey Beach - Job Requirements

• Friendly, courteous, and engaging individuals. You must enjoy customer service and have good communication skills. This job requires constant, clear and professional communication with customers and colleagues.
• Staff members must maintain the highest quality and freshness standards throughout the store at all times.
• Daily tasks may include, but are not limited to: cleaning, sweeping, stocking, food preparation, deli, carry outs, cashier, produce grading and sorting, pricing, organizing, merchandising, product sampling, watering plants, receiving deliveries, loading products, phone answering, preparing orders, etc.
• You have an eye for detail and enjoy organizing and making your work area a little better each day.
• Willingness to learn product details (examples: apple uses, local honey benefits, etc.) and educate customers effectively.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills are required due to a high level of customer and employee interaction.
• Time management and multitasking skills
• Highly self-motivated with a sense of urgency and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment at all times
• Very flexible and open-minded. You may perform numerous types of tasks within the course of the same day.
• Basic knowledge of fruits, vegetables, and food safety is preferred.
• Food preparation skills and kitchen knowledge are preferred, but not required.
• Must be able to address customer concerns in a professional, courteous manner.
• Part-time and full-time hours are possible.
• Please note: Fifer's in Dewey Beach is open seasonally from April-October each year.

Physical Requirements

• Requires standing, walking, bending, stacking and lifting throughout the entire work day.
• Must be able to lift 30+lbs.
• May need to maneuver heavy objects weighing 50lbs. or more using carts.
• Saturday work and holiday work will be required in this position. Sundays we are closed.
• Requires working in all types of weather elements. You may be working in very cold and very hot conditions depending on the time of year.
• Personal cell phones are not permitted while working at Fifer’s.
• Smoking is not permitted on our property.
