Description
Star Program Director
The Star Program Director is responsible for the development and ongoing management of one or more Star programs that are multi-state, multi-function and multi-year in scope. Program directors typically support business strategies through an integrated portfolio of external client facing programs, projects and initiatives.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Directs the development, planning, prioritization, approval, implementation and compliance of new and on-going Star programs.
Establishes program performance oversight in partnership with multiple departments, business areas, and program owners to monitor impact and incorporate lessons learned; ensures milestones are met, including program financial plans
Provides Star subject matter expertise in response to day-to-day business issues; researches applicable subject matter practices; and remains aware of industry trends.
Manages program stakeholder relationships and partners with corporate and regional business areas.
Supports program design efforts, connecting teams with insights to inform actions and human-centered design concepts to optimize impact.
Develops documentation to support meeting presentations and the tracking and reporting of the program’s success.

Provides leadership to program managers and project managers.
Typically reports to an executive.
Program directors typically manage external client facing programs that require managing activities and resources of multiple departments or business areas of the organization.
Minimum qualifications
Requires a BA/BS and minimum of 10 years of experience in external client facing program management, project management; complex business processes, strategic and business planning; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred qualifications
Medicare Star background- highly preferred
Management consulting working with diverse stakeholders a plus
Ability to work with all levels within the enterprise
Experience with human centered program design and performance management
10% travel
Master’s degree in business, public health, or related field preferred.
Project management certification (PMP) preferred.
