Structural Steel Fabricator

ISE is seeking an experienced Steel Fabricator to join our shop crew in fabricating structural steel for both commercial and residential buildings. Examples include wide flange "I" beams or columns, tube steel, and other parts.

Core Responsibilities

• Skillfully carry out fabrication techniques of welding, cutting, and others
• Fabricate correctly in accordance with a given drawing/blueprint
• Operate cranes and other shop tools to effectively maintain an efficient workflow and pace

The individual must be mechanically inclined, a quick learner, and willing to perform whatever tasks are needed within the fabrication shop. The fabricator position reports directly to the Shop Foreman on a daily basis. This is a mid to senior level position.

Hours – 6:30am-3:00pm M-F, with some weekly OT and Saturdays at time and a half rate

Compensation & Benefits – Package of Hourly Wage, Health, Dental, 401K/match, and occasional profit sharing. Wages TBD based largely on previous experience and relevant skills/certifications

Minimum Skills / Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis
• Experience in steel fabrication
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings (blueprints)
• Competent in welding SMAW, FCAW, & GMAW
• Competent in Oxy/Acetylene and plasma cutting methods
• Willing to work indoors or outdoors year round
• Willing to learn new fabrication equipment
• Willing to work OT when needed – Both longer week days and Saturdays

Preferred Skills/Requirements:

• Layout experience
• Flat and Vertical Certified Welder
• Competent in Bridge (overhead) Crane operation
• Competent in Forklift/Lull operation
• Some experience with plate shears, hydraulic punches/brakes, mag drills, and threading machines
• Understanding of structural steel member specifications

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
