School/College/Division Description
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions (OUA) is housed in the Division of Enrollment Management, home to the Student Success Center, Financial Aid office, Student Advising, Career Planning and more. OUA is tasked with attracting and enrolling undergraduate students to UWM’s three campuses. The department oversees recruitment, visits and events, operations (application processing), the CRM (Slate), marketing and communications. The team works to attract undergraduate students from a variety of groups: first time freshmen, first generation college students, transfer students, re-entry students, and adult students. New Student Programs is an arm of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions (OUA), housed in the Division of Enrollment Management, home to the Student Success Center, Financial Aid Office, Student Advising, Career Planning and more.

Job Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Orientation and Transition, The Transition Coordinator will support the University of Wisconsin System and UW-Milwaukee (UWM) enrollment goals by facilitating an intentional Panther Transition Experience to support all 3,200+ new UWM students’ integration into the institutional community through in-person student programming, online training, and family engagement.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience supervising student staff or serving in a student leadership role
  • Experience with event planning and execution
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in student affairs, higher education, college student personnel, or related field
  • Experience with New Student Programs/Orientation, Transition programming, Student Leadership Development or Student Activities in a higher education setting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (as evidenced by application materials)
  • Experience with course creation in Canvas or similar online learning platform
  • Experience hiring, onboarding, training, supervising, and evaluating student employees
  • Volunteer management and coordination experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to advancing social justice/diversity/equity/inclusion initiatives
  • Experience utilizing Slate or similar Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
Target Salary Range $43,000-$46,000 Benefits and Total Rewards
