Role: Student Ministry Pastor

Friends Church in Willoughby Hills, Ohio in search of their next Pastor of Student Ministry.
Friends Church exists to help the Family of God grow in their Faith, find Freedom, and build a better Future. We are a large, growing church in the suburbs of Cleveland and we are looking for a strong, collaborative leader to oversee all aspects of student ministry. We are looking for someone dedicated to reaching out to students in the community, empowering student leaders, and equipping/developing volunteers.

Responsibility:

• Commit to doing whatever is necessary in biblical accordance to accomplish the mission and vision of Friends Church.
• Active participation in the planning, implementing, executing, and closing all Buzz Event

Initiatives (All church events) at Friends Church.

• Be an active participant in creating opportunities that lead to eternal salvation.
• Commit to helping in the discipleship of believers at Friends Church to help the Family of

God grow in their faith.

• Active participant in shepherding God’s flock according to 1 Peter Chapter 5.

Area Specific Responsibilities:

• Develop and lead weekly worship program for middle and high school students
• Coordinate and lead student special events, such as annual retreats, conferences, trips, and small groups
• Creating large-scale, community-wide events that draw middle and high school students
• Increasing Friends Church presence in local schools in order to connect with current and prospective students
• Helping students and adult grow in their Faith, discover their gifts and build a better

Future by connecting them to appropriate ministry and serving opportunities

Skills you’ll need to have:

• Ability to develop student ministry curriculum that will be executable across all campuses
• Ability to connect with middle school and high school students
• Effective and dynamic communication skills
• Ability to develop systems to efficiently advance ministry and communication
• Strong leadership skills
• Social media skills that connects with students
• Ability to create a compelling culture and environment that students are excited about and into which they are excited to invite their friends
• Fruitful ministry experience

Located in northeast Ohio, Willoughby Hills is flourishing suburb considered one of the most picturesque communities in northeast Ohio, it still maintains the delicate balance between country and city. The city encompasses about 11 square miles, through which the Chagrin River has carved a scenic valley to the east. With a population of approximately 9,485, Willoughby Hills has a delicate balance of residential and commercial areas, including several boutique-style restaurants, specialty stores, and five major automobile dealerships. It is also the home of facilities operated by two of the major area hospitals, The Cleveland Clinic and The Lake Hospital System, as well as individual offices of dozens of medical specialists. In Willoughby Hills, you can catch a fish or hike a park trail, shop an outlet mall, enjoy an elegant dinner or just a hot dog and a cone, all within minutes from Cleveland, Akron, and Pennsylvania
