Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a student employee to serve as a Greeter and Records Administrator for the Manchester Police Athletic League. MPAL connects cops and kids through free athletic, educational, and enrichment instruction to help kids make the right choices and become productive members of the community. This position will assist the guest chefs in MPAL’s Cooking Class in helping the kids learn cooking techniques, recipes, basic nutrition, and how to cook for themselves at home, leading to healthier eating and lifestyles by our participants. This position requires Federal Work Study Funding and your own transportation.
Primary Duties:

Oversee kids in the class, specifically keeping an eye on safety

Assist kids in their tasks (i.e. using a knife to cut)

Engage with kids while they cook and eat

Teach kids how to set a table

Wash dishes and clean kitchen

Assist chef if they need anything
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Enrolled in a degree program at SNHU
-
Work study as part of your financial aid package

Reliable transportation
-
General kitchen and food safety knowledge is helpful, but training can be provided

Supportive, friendly, and patient

Able to listen to chef instructions and help guide kids

Must be able to pass a background check
Work Schedule:
Classes take place on Mondays from 4pm -5:30pm (see schedule below). Assistants are asked to be there for the whole class, but do not need to attend every class.
