River Edge is currently hiring for a Substance Abuse Counselor in Macon-Bibb County.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated
Substance Abuse Counselor to become part of our team in the adult addictive disease outpatient program. River Edge offers comprehensive, coordinated, and evidence-based outpatient treatment services to support individuals as they build a life of full recovery from substance use disorder(s).
In this role you will:
- Provide drug and alcohol counseling and support to individual clients and their families.
- Facilitate group counseling, including process group therapy and providing education on relevant topics regarding addiction.
- Conduct confidential behavioral health assessments and treatment planning as it pertains to substance use disorder(s) and co-occurring needs.
- Work collaboratively with clients and River Edge treatment team members to help support clients in their treatment and recovery.
- Model and support health and wellness activities and healthy coping skills for clients.
- Maintain quality, up-to-date clinical records. including case notes, treatment plan reviews, discharge planning, and Outcomes Survey; enter the necessary information into River Edge's electronic medical records (EMR) system.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and regulatory ethical/legal guidelines as a substance abuse/addictions counselor.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Fully COVID Vaccinated.
- CAC II or CADC II certification OR LMSW/LPC with at least two years of experience in a social service-related position.
- Experience with processing groups and facilitating skills training.
Job Hours: Monday, Tues, Thurs 12p-8p; Wed, Fri 8:00-4:00 pm.
