Summer Camp Counselor Job Description:

Now hiring for our Cottage Grove and Waunakee Locations

Infinity Martial Arts Summer Camp engages children ages 7-12 in fun and educational activities. Our programs consist of arts and crafts, science, sports, and outdoor activities in order to provide developmental experiences for campers.

We are seeking camp counselors that are self-motivated, energetic, and creative! You must be willing to be an active participant and play all games with campers

Summer Camp Counselor Job Responsibilities:

The most important out of all Camp Counselor duties is to ensure campers are safe at all times. You’ll be responsible for overseeing their activities and ensuring they don’t get lost or hurt.Other responsibilities include monitoring campers’ health and safety, leading activities, and improving the overall camp experience.

• Implements camp programs outlined by the Camp Director and Lead Counselor.
• Provides high-quality educational and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for camp participants.
• Maintains a schedule for camp participants.
• Administers safety guidelines and the camper discipline system.
• Facilitates lesson plans for daily activities.
• Assists in maintaining accurate daily program records, including incident reports, logbook documentation, and attendance.
• Knows, enforces, and follows all safety guidelines associated with the camp program.
• Ongoing facility upkeep

Counselor Skills / Qualifications:

• Possess the skills and maturity needed to perform the job successfully
• First aid- and CPR-certified preferred, otherwise training will be provided

Our Facilities

Infinity Martial Arts offers a fun, high energy work environment. Our large, matted floor space allows for a plethora of games and activities for our campers. All this ample space allows camp counselors to facilitate exciting and dynamic activities in a safe environment.

Work Hours

Work hours will vary by location, but core camp hours are 8:00AM - 4:00PM. This role can be full time or a split shift. 37-40 hours are expected weekly for full time work. Part-time candidates can request either a morning or afternoon 5-hour shift. Hours may vary based on scheduled field trips, and extended pickup times. 25-30 total hours will be expected weekly for the split shift.

Staff members will get a 15-minute break every shift and 30-minute lunch on shifts over 5-hours.

*Some flexibility is necessary for start and end times. Counselors may need to arrive earlier to open camp before 8am or stay until all kids are picked up, which may go past 5pm on some days.

Infinity Martial Arts is a franchise located in Dane County, WI, serving the greater Madison area. The following school locations will host Summer Camp:

Middleton: 6/12/23 - 9/1/23

Fitchburg/Verona 6/12/23 - 8/25/23

Cottage Grove 6/12/23 - 8/31/23

Shorewood 6/12/23 - 8/25/23

Waunakee 6/12/23 - 8/25/23

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
