Supervisor, Parking Operations and Contracts, EWR
Job description
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, Landside Operations and Customer Service Unit, the selected candidate will have primary responsibility for managing the day-to-day oversight of the parking lot operations and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). This position must also interact frequently in a collaborative manner with airline partners, tenants, and an array of Port Authority staff at various levels across multiple departments. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing oversight of EWR's parking lot revenue with annual receipts averaging over $100 million
- Managing the parking lot contractor and coordinating with airport staff on all airport parking lot operation matters, including public parking and Employee Parking Programs
- Managing the daily demand for long-term and daily parking while lot space becomes continually reduced due to the Airport's Redevelopment Programs
- Maintaining control of the parking program for Customs Border Protection (CBP) Officers
- Managing the parking operation, parking lot revenue control system, parking guidance system, system administration (CMC) and other miscellaneous Landside contracts
- Representing the Landside Manager as liaison between United Airlines (Employee Shuttle Operator) and the Employee Lot F users in monthly meetings to discuss the employee shuttle operation
- Managing the daily operation in the Ride Share and Cell Phone Lots
- Overseeing the ITS and digital kiosk devices to ensure content are operational, updated, and utilized as necessary to communicate to customers
- Supporting and implementing Customer Experience initiatives and projects
- Participation with EOC Operations and being on-site for emergencies including snow operations, hurricanes or other weather events or aircraft incidents that can occur 24-hours a day, 365 days a year
Other landside/customer experience duties as assigned due to operational necessity.
- Contract administration responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Planning, budgeting, and tracking current/future contractor staffing levels to ensure a high level of customer service is provided
- Ensuring all invoice processing is completed within prescribed deadlines and contract expenditures are within budget and authorization limits
- Preparing monthly budget variance reports including necessary accruals
- Monitoring contractor operational data and related reports
- Assisting in the development of various contractual requirements and participating in the contractor selection process
Qualifications
Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:
- Bachelors' degree from an accredited college or university
- Knowledge of processes and procedures related to procurement, budgeting, and contract development and administration
- Experience with managing multiple on-going service contracts, landside or transportation logistics
- Competency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint computer applications where you have created and manipulated data, reports, and presentations
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to respond 24-hours a day 365 days per year to emergencies
Desired
Ideal candidates will present the following profile:
- Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management, Transportation, Project Management or Engineering
- Experience administering and managing service contracts at both single and multi-facility contract levels
- Experience in a transportation operations environment
- Experience overseeing a diverse workforce, such as unionized staff or service contractors
- Experience in the transportation industry
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups, such as Port Authority and external senior management, tenants, contractors, vendors, and government, community, and industry officials
- Ability to work independently, to prioritize concurrent assignments and to manage time effectively
