East End Welding is a leader in heavy engineered, build to order metal fabrications. Within our 140,000 square foot facilities we offer AWS and ASME certified welding of stainless steels, carbon steels, aluminum, tool steel, and more. We offer plate cutting with our laser, waterjet plasma precision shape cutting systems and CNC machining. Our fabrication department is equipped to handle metal forming, rolling, and bending of plate, pipe, bar, and angle. We match these services with state-of-the-art automated robotic equipment. From there we handle the complete project management service including warehousing, kit-packaging, and JIT distribution. Additionally, we have the capabilities of a large space heat-treat/stress-relief, finishing and painting.
Job Description
The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for developing and leading the execution of procurement, materials scheduling, inventory, and logistics to ensure efficiency, safety, quality, and cost-effective management of resources. This position will also be responsible for production scheduling/planning, inventory control, vendor selection, and distribution. This position will work in partnership with key business stakeholders to execute strong sourcing strategies that drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, industrial engineering, operations management, or a related field- 15 + years of experience in strategic sourcing, vendor management, purchasing, and supply chain management
- Expertise in establishing and developing relationships with suppliers and customers to facilitate execution on long-term sourcing strategies while setting and meeting clear and measurable goals. Leading to continuous performance and cost savings
- Serve as the subject matter expert for procurement practices
- Ability to drive a sense of urgency, lean manufacturing and problem solving
- Experience in dealing with regulatory bodies such as DOT, OSHA, and the EPA
- Ability to understand and manage financial goals and meet performance parameters
- Skilled in balancing supply risks (i.e., capacity, constraints, etc..) with opportunities for improvement.
- Ability to manage inventory to appropriate levels to ensure manufacturing success within prescribed deadlines and capacity planning
- Experience in capacity planning to meet the needs of assembly and finishing
- Experience in metal fabrication, welding, manufacturing preferred
- Experience working in a “growth” company culture
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Work, PowerPoint), ERP system (Sage)
- Experience with ISO 9000 quality audit systems
