Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The mission of the School of Social Work is to advance equity, transform systems, improve lives. The School’s curriculum supports the mission and recognizes the uniqueness of the region served, including concerns for disadvantaged, vulnerable, and oppressed individuals, families and communities. Classes provide rigorous and evidence-based content, and give students the opportunity to explore theory, learn intervention skills and engage in challenging dialogue with colleagues.

Position Summary
The Facilities Assistant will work with the FM (Facilities Manager), building occupants , and independently to initiate, fulfill and document all work requests provided by building occupants and the FM. This includes but is not limited to, assembly and installation of department assets, furnishings, archival cleanout with the assistance of the FM and data owners, departmental moves, office setups, moving furniture, event setup and reset. This position will work with the FM to help organize department assets, conduct program projects, and update signage and lists. The incumbent will also assist with office, archival, and storage cleanout; identifying items to be kept, recycled, sent to Surplus or thrown away.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Knowledge of safe use of basic hand tools (tape measure, drill, hammer, screwdriver, box cutter, and the use of hand trucks/carts for conveyance of assets and furnishings. Ability to manage an Outlook email and calendar.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Prefer candidate with great organizational skills and experience working in higher education.

Special Physical/Mental Requirements
Ability to lift up to 40lbs boxes and move furniture with or without assistance.
