Job description
The Supported Employment Specialist (SES) will assist individuals who are struggling with mental illness and/or addiction in finding meaningful employment.. The SES will build relationships with community employers and advocate for clients during the hiring process. The SES will work directly with the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) for collaboration of services.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum high school diploma or GED, two years of experience is a plus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. The SES will:
a. Support consumers by performing the intake process.
b. Meet with OVR, specialist and consumer regarding approval for services.
c. Represent the consumer with OVR during IPE process.
d. Assist consumer with clothing needs for stable employment when necessary.
e. To be a role model for that consumer, be part of the support system, be in contact when issues arise other than job duties.
f. Assist consumers in identifying strengthsg. Assist consumers in identifying barriers
h. Recognizing and supporting the identification of other services needed.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:1. Adheres to Astra Behavioral Health policies and procedures.
2. Attends mandatory in services and other training/educational programs as required.
