TITLE: Surgical Technologist(Open Heart and General Surgery)
LOCATION: near Columbus, Ohio

If so, an opportunity to work with an integrated health care system based in east central Ohio is looking for someone to join their team.

The system is a not-for-profit and has over 300 physicians and multiple outpatient care centers throughout the area. The system is the largest provider in a six county region and a primary referral center. It offers a higher level of service than what is typically found in a community of its size including open-heart surgery, trauma care, a Level II neonatal intermediate care unit, neurosurgery and comprehensive cancer services.They are proud of their rich history of serving the community and vow to continue the tradition of healing and caring with compassion, trust, innovation and excellence.

Summary:
Functions as a part of the surgical team to provide care in the intra-operative phase of the surgical or obstetrical procedure using knowledge of instrumentation and equipment to ensure the best possible outcome for each patient.

Responsibilities:
Properly decontaminates instruments and/or scopes, re-sterilize, and maintain log of activity.
Keeps the equipment coordinator and/or manager informed of problems or suspected problems with the various pieces of equipment in the operating room. Supports maintenance of accurate preference cards through communication with surgery team. Demonstrates proficient knowledge and skills, ability to, and willingly accepts an equality on-call schedule as dictated by staffing levels. Demonstrates the ability to reduce cost per procedure by not opening supplies that are not needed. Demonstrates ability to respond to hospital within 30 minutes. Serves on department specialty focus team and accepts responsibility of assigned area(s).

Qualifications:
Experience as a Surgical Tech of at least 1-2 years of experience. Completion of an accredited surgical technology program (some staff grandfathered due to change in this requirement).
Current CPR or within 30 days of employment. Knowledgeable of anatomy and physiology.

Additional Info:
There is an Open Heart position for 40hr per week varied shift position available. There is an Inpatient General Surgery position for 36 hours/week, varied shifts. There is an Inpatient General Surgery, 36 hours/week, on NIGHT shifts. There is shift differentials offered for 2nd shift($2.20hr), 3rd shift($2.35hr), Weekends($0.90hr) The hospital will offer an hourly range between $21.16 - $28.45 per hour depending on experience.
