We are hiring a Survey Technician for our Wilsonville Office to work as a vital part of our high-performing team! You will be working with an experienced team of surveyors providing support for the field crews and our Project Managers. As a Survey Technician, your job with the team will be:

Survey Technician

The Survey Technician must have a high aptitude for both field, and office technologies as this position requires office production work supporting field crews and Project Managers on a wide variety of projects some of which are mapping and others which are heavy Civil projects (Bridges, retaining walls, highways other large construction projects) the work on these projects will include:

Engineering Drawings:

• Right of Way drawings using MicroStation Inroads on ODOT projects using their CAD standards
• 3D Laser scanning point cloud registration
• Office work will also involve field note reductions, traverse adjustments, preparing topographical maps, and Record of Surveys
• You work directly for a Professional Land Surveyor

Construction Support:

• Autodesk Civil 3D to create horizontal and vertical alignments based upon engineering plans
• Calculate horizontal and vertical curves, offsets for construction elements
• Calculations to reduce field notes, download data collectors, and provide QC of the data from survey field crews performing and construction staking
• Office calculations in support of field crews performing heavy construction staking on roadways, retaining walls, bridges, drainage, and utility structures
• Office work will also involve field note reductions, traverse adjustments, preparing topographical maps, and Record of Surveys
• You work directly for a Professional Land Surveyor

Required:

• Minimum of 3 years MicroStation Inroads experience
• Minimum 3 years of AutoCAD/Civil 3D
• Strong understanding of the Principals of Surveying
• Strong understanding of heavy construction methods and practice
• Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Excellent computer skills including Word and Excel
• Ability to pass drug tests and a background check
