This Chief Information Officer (CIO) position is truly an outstanding opportunity to join a recently established regional health system that has been created to ensure the sustainability of exceptional healthcare and to fulfill the missions of two respected organizations located in southern New Hampshire. Elliot Health System in Manchester and Southern New Hampshire Health in Nashua, the founding members of SolutionHealth.
The CIO will provide strategic and operational leadership to guide the future direction of the IT enterprise and enable high quality service to clinical and business operations. This position will be responsible for strategic vision, long term planning, direction, and overall accountability for system-wide IT functions. The CIO will ensure that the IT division s operations support the organizational mission, goals and objectives, as well as provide leadership and direction in the planning, implementation, and evaluation activities across SolutionHealth and member health systems.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:- Develops and leads IT strategic and tactical planning for SolutionHealth. Plans and leads the future direction of IT and ensures delivery of high-quality service to support clinical and business operations.
- Participates in organization wide planning activities to ensure information technology investments support the business plan as well as other tactical and operational priorities.
- Reviews information technology opportunities and health information management procedures on a proactive basis to ensure adequate systems to meet organizational needs. Benchmarks industry to stay current with trends regarding information technology and its use inside and outside of healthcare.
- Oversees overall operations, budgeting and staffing of Information Technology division. Defines organizational structure and allocates staff appropriately based on organizational and/or departmental plans and priorities.
- Partner with senior management and become fully integrated into the leadership team. Be perceived as a solid team player who has credibility, integrity and contributes broadly as a subject- matter leader.
- Perform an overall assessment of the current IT departments including resources, structure and staff. Identify and make any changes necessary to develop a cohesive team that is best positioned to effectively serve the current and future needs of a transforming health system.
- Develop strong external relationships and advocate on behalf of SolutionHealth with regard to IT matters at the local, regional and state level.
- Mentors, develops, recruits, and retains a proactive, service-oriented team. Fosters an environment that promotes professional growth and staff development through effective leadership and education.
- An executive in a senior IT leadership position such as a CIO within a dynamic and complex healthcare provider organization, preferably a health system.
- A strategic leader that has a strong track record in leading a highly responsive, service-oriented IT organization that consistently meets its goals.
- A progressive, visionary leader with significant experience in the development and execution of IT strategic plans.
- Successful implementation of EMR systems. Experience with Epic is highly desirable.
- Leveraging technologies and tools in support of analytics and telehealth.
- Ability to effectively leading and facilitating change in a growing organization.
- Bachelor s degree in Information System Management, Computer Science or related field is required.
- Master s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related graduate degree is preferred.
