Position Summary:
The Switchboard Supervisor manages the day to day operations and oversees all operators in the Switchboard Department, working closely with and reporting to the Operations Director at Aurora of CNY, Inc.

Job Responsibilities:

• Supervise the switchboard operators on an individual level and within the team dynamic.
• Collaborate with VA Medical Center contracting officer and other designated VA staff.
• Maintain positive and professional working relationships with operators, VA staff, VA Police Department and Aurora.
• Recruit, train, develop and evaluate staff in the provision of switchboard operator services.
• Assign, direct and review the work of the operators.
• Plan, schedule and coordinate work operations to ensure coverage at all times according to the set ration regulations.
• Provide evening/weekend on call coverage as needed.
• Implement new information into the switchboard directory and keep all operators informed of changes.
• Provide excellent customer service as an operator as needed.
• Maintain an updated procedural manual based on the VA contract Work Statement.
• Attend Aurora Supervisory and staff meetings.
• Other assignments mutually agreed upon by the switchboard supervisor and Aurora.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree with two years related experience preferred. HS Diploma/GED and relevant experience will be considered.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• The ability to maintain a calm and effective manner during emergency situations is required.
• Excellent communication and customer services skills.
• Previous Switchboard Operator experience.
• Basic knowledge of Medical Center Computer System preferred.
