The Sr. Systems Engineer (Network) specializes in data network technologies to design and support DRC’s business plan and achieve its goals. This role may design, implement and support data network technology hardware and software.
Network connectivity includes multiple data centers, outsourced contact centers and other partner and supplier locations. This position will participate in a collaborative forum with other infrastructure staff across DRC for some implementations as well as have opportunities for independent work.

Responsibilities

• Interfaces with and provides direction to various vendors, clients, and others for the implementation and support of networking products and services, server infrastructure, networks, firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless hardware
• Install and support various perimeter network and security devices--maintain and update configurations, update code, etc.
• Contribute to overall future network infrastructure architecture and support strategy.
• Ability to build temporary and permanent networks from the ground up and tear them down.
• Collaborate with other staff and departments to meet department and project deadlines.
• Collaborate with IT Security departments to mitigate security vulnerabilities.
• Document network infrastructure changes.
• Use ITIL process and procedures for change, incident and problem management of network environments.
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

• Cisco certifications (CCNA or more advanced) OR familiar with advanced network topics and technologies
• 3+ years IT experience in various application delivery environments
• 3+ years high-level experience with firewalls, load balancers, routers, switches, and wireless environments
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• 3+ years extensive technical experience in a variety of Networking areas, including design, implementation and support of some of the following:
• wireless, and ISE – Identity Service Engine
• Palo Alto firewalls
• F5 load balancers
• VMware NSX
• Cloud networking: Amazon AWS VPC, EC2, and Direct Connect
• Experience with other IT infrastructure technologies including network, and security perimeter technologies
• Experience with SSL VPN technologies
• Proven troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work equally well in team or independent situations
• Experience with SD-WAN
• Experience with Network management and Security Platforms
• Experience with DDoS Detection and Prevention
• Experience with Phone Systems
• Experience with Software Defined Networking, Virtual Networks, Micro-Segmentation
• Other technical certifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and business analysis skills.
