Tax & Partnership Accountant

Location: Tyler, TX, US

Reports To: Manager of Partnership Financial & Tax Reporting – Randy Fox

Salary: Based upon level of experience

General Summary of the Position:

Tax & Partnership Accountant for an independent oil and gas exploration and production company, in our Tyler, TX corporate office.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly cash analysis
• Prepare journal entries
• Reconcile multiple accounts
• Yearend tax return of Form 1065 Schedule K-1
• Prepare Tax & GAAP financial statements
• Maintain depreciation & depletion schedules
• CCH Pro-System FX Tax & ATX Tax Software
• Tax Preparation for Federal, New Mexico, & Oklahoma
• Other duties as required

Education, Training and Experience:

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in accounting with experience in oil and gas accounting.

Skills and Abilities:

The candidate must be highly motivated, good organizational skills, detail oriented and reliable. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word as well as a working knowledge of Quorum software is desired. Strong interpersonal abilities along with excellent written and verbal communication aptitudes are required. Prior experience with oil and gas properties in Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico. Knowledge of GAAP full-cost accounting desired.

Monday – Friday, no travel, office setting (Tax season will involve some overtime)
